Who we are

Toccoa Tours creates immersive travel experiences centered on the people, places, and stories of Easy Company.

Through carefully planned tours and special events, we help guests walk in the footsteps of the men who trained at Camp Toccoa and carried that experience with them through World War II. Our goal is simple: preserve their story, honor their service, and help future generations understand the history in the places where it happened.

Our Team

I’m Rita, co-creator of Toccoa Tours, a WWII-focused military tour company. With deep respect for history and a love of travel, we design immersive experiences that honor the legacy of the Greatest Generation. One of our signature tours takes place at the historic Camp Toccoa, where America’s WWII paratroopers began their journey. Whether retracing the steps of heroes or planning unforgettable getaways, I’m passionate about creating meaningful travel that connects people to the past.

Sean Lester is a former collegiate athlete and firefighter. A lifelong history nerd he became interested with Easy Company after seeing the series originally air. Over the following years he wrote the men of Easy becoming friends with the men. After his first trip to Toccoa and becoming friends with Brenda Carlan (then director of the Currahee Military Museum) he became a research assistant and assisted in acquiring displays for the museum. After years spent at the original Camp Toccoa grounds he helped document and map out original locations. He brings a mixture of onsite knowledge of the camp and continuing to honor the legacy and stories of the men through his friendship of the men and families of Easy.

Joe Muccia is a U.S. Marine combat veteran who retired with over 20 years of service. He is also a historian, author, podcaster, and battlefield tour guide. In 2003, as he prepared to take part in Operation Iraqi Freedom, Joe and his fellow Marines watched the entire Band of Brothers series, taking inspiration from the paratroopers’ dedicated service. He decided to write Major Dick Winters and that one letter kicked off a friendship with the veterans and families of Easy Company that has lasted to this day. In addition to leading tours across Europe following the path of Easy and producing the “We’re Not Lost, Private” podcast, Joe is currently writing the definitive history of Easy company, a four-part series. Volume 1 was released in 2026.

Josh Bunting is a high school teacher and former professional firefighter and paramedic. His interest in the story of Easy Company began in 2003, when, as a rookie firefighter, he watched the Band of Brothers miniseries at his first fire station with the rest of his crew.

Combining a lifelong interest in history with a love of travel, Josh is proud to help others experience the places connected to Easy Company’s story and to honor the legacy of the men who trained at Camp Toccoa.
